July SoF Star Spotlight - How Serah spreads inclusivity throughout her community

14-year-old Serah from Rhode Island strives to make all those around her happy, and wants nothing but positivity for others.

Serah is a 14 year old girl from Rhode Island who has extremely positive goals for her life. Sponsors of the Future (SoF) is dedicated to educating the local community about the importance of inclusivity by supporting and empowering those with disabilities to be courageous, ambitious, independent, and, most importantly, happy.


SoF is honored to make Serah our Star Spotlight for the month of July. The Star Spotlight is meant to honor those who are kind and have a strong passion for leadership and making a difference in other’s lives.


We interviewed Serah to find out more about what makes her happy, and what her passions and goals are.


1. What makes you happy?

Things that make me happy are seeing others happy.


2. What do you like to do?

I enjoy playing sports and hanging out with my family and friends.


3. What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about equality and everyone being treated with kindness.


4. When you see the future, what do you see yourself doing?

I see myself helping children. I would like to do teaching as an elementary school or special education


5. What is one superpower you wish you could have?

I wish I could spread kindness to everyone..


6. Who is your hero?

My heroes are my parents, sister, and Katie Higgins. She is a swimmer for USA swim and she is a mental health advocate, coach, and athlete.


7. How do you overcome your challenges?

I come over my challenges by saying “this may be hard, but things could be harder” OR “this hard, but you got this.”


8. What steps do you take when other people have challenges?

I make sure to tell them that it’s gonna be okay and they can do this.
